Localisation SIG

The reach and implementation of FOSS is purely based on its usage prior to the local context. This is where localisation jumps in. Every Free/Libre Software needs to be localised to meet the requirements of the local user. When you say Free As In Freedom it also means that it should be made applicable to all sections of the user base.

This can be achieved in two ways,

  • Individual Contributions (Independent)
  • Collective Contributions (Movement)

FSFTN as a Free Software Movement working in the region of Tamil Nadu adds effort in localising various FOSS tools and documentations.

The purpose of this SIG is to discuss, share and learn about the progress of the localisation efforts that is happening currently. This group will also meet physically and discuss about the future plans and events related to Localisation.
